Accident: 170040737 - Dies After Suffering Heart Attack On January 24, 2000, Employee #1 was sitting in the cab of a log truck waiting for his turn to be loaded when he suffered a fatal heart attack and collapsed. He moved a loader so he could back his truck into position to load it. After reversing up to the loader, he got out and began to remove a wrapper chain binder from the logs. As he did so, two logs fell on him from the driver's side, pinning him to the ground. The truck traveled along the ditch until it overturned when Employee #1 tried to maneuver it back onto the road. The truck came to rest on its roof in the southbound lane of the highway. The shifting load of logs sheared off the cab guard anchors and crushed the top of the cab. As he proceeded down a steep grade on Highway 82 at Milepost 31, he lost control of the truck at a 90 degree left curve. He crashed through the guardrail and tumbled approximately 1,500 ft to the valley floor.
